Our boutique

Afghan heritage, worn with pride

Ziva began as a family love of Afghan dress — the embroidery, the mirror work, the jewel-tone cloth that turns a celebration into a memory. We bring those pieces to Melbourne so the next generation can wear their heritage to weddings, henna nights and every gathering in between.

We're a warm, family-run boutique — not a faraway label. Browse the pieces, then message us on Instagram or WhatsApp and we'll help you find the right one, in the right size and colour, for your night.

The craft

Every stitch tells a story

A gandi or kuchi dress is more than an outfit — it carries the work of hands that learned their craft from the hands before them. Tiny mirrors, coins, zari thread and dense embroidery are worked into the cloth so it catches the light as you move.

We choose pieces with that care in mind: true colour, generous coverage and craftsmanship you can feel. Modest, celebratory and unmistakably Afghan — dress that honours where it comes from.

To wear your heritage and feel beautiful in it — that is the whole reason Ziva exists.

From our hands to yours

How Ziva works

1

Sourced with care

Pieces are chosen from artisans and families who keep traditional Afghan dressmaking alive — hand-embroidered kuchi and gandi dresses, mirror and coin work brought together with an eye for true colour and craft.

2

The handwork

Mirror tiles, coins, zari thread and sequins are worked by hand across rich jewel-tone cloth. Every panel of embroidery is a small piece of heritage, stitched the way it has been for generations.

3

Bought, hired or made

Fall in love with a piece and take it home, or hire it for your event. Want something in your own size or colour? We can make it to order or source something close.

4

A warm welcome

Browse the pieces, then message us on WhatsApp or Instagram. We reply personally — happy to talk fabric, fit, colour and which piece is right for your celebration.

5

To your door

Collected here in Melbourne or posted Australia-wide — wrapped with care and ready for henna, engagement, wedding or any night worth dressing up for.

The craft in every piece

Heritage you can feel

What makes an Afghan dress special is the work in the cloth — hand embroidery, mirror and coin work, zari thread and sequins, all carried on deep jewel tones. We choose pieces where that craft is the point.
